CIAF: “International Confederation for Family Support” is a new SOCIO-EDUCATIONAL WAY TO ERRADICATE POVERTY.
The group of founders gathers in Dr Ana Mon’s house and start to work on the idea of the creation of a day care center private, apolitical and ecumenical for extremely poor children and their families. Family Support begins.
There are 4 Child And Family House in Buenos Aires Province. The Association becomes a Province Federation that gathers the 4 centers.
Date of FAAF Legal Constitution. September, 26, 1986. FAAF: Argentine Federation of Family Support.
With the financial help provided by W. K. Kellogg Foundation the Federation is decentralized from Buenos Aires.
28 centers are started in a year. Now the Federation has 42 centers.
Family support received 86,865 dollars from Kellogg Foundation to spread over the country. The objective was to spread the idea in 6 provinces of Argentina. We finished the Project with 3 more provinces. We did not spend money neither hotels (we went to family homes) nor flying, but with buses. There were 14 centers when we started and finished with 42 centers in many provinces of Argentina.
The Province Federation becomes Family Support Federation of Argentina.
FAAF: Federación Argentina de Apoyo Familiar, in spanish.
